School Admission Information
Referrals to Lakemary come from a number of sources including families, home school districts, and mental health professionals.
Day Students: When a parent or guardian would like their child to attend Lakemary School as a day student, contact should first be made with the home school's administrators. When the child's IEP team has determined that a formal referral is desired, documentation such as the current IEP and the psychological testing shall be considered by Lakemary School before the child will be accepted.
Residential Students: All children in Lakemary's Psychiatric Residential Treatment(PRTF) & Intensive Behavioral Supports Program (IBSP) attend Lakemary School as a part of their overall education plan.
School Admission Criteria:
- Children & adolescents ages 6-21 years old.
- Students whose educational needs have exceeded the resources of their home communities.
- Students who have been diagnosed with complex intellectual/developmental disabilities.
- Students who have typically been unable to integrate fully into mainstream education due to aggression, self-injurious behavior, oppositional and/or attention seeking behavior.
